About you

About The Role:

A Desktop Publishing and Media Specialist performs DTP engineering and quality checks on localized files, and also prepares documents for printing and digital publication using desktop publishing and graphics software applications. They will also support Project Managers with duties related to the translation workflow, such as file handling and quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

• Performs DTP engineering or picture localization, editing of images, multimedia, according to the project and language specifics
• Performs the required work according to the information or instructions about the project and language specifics, which may include file preparation, DTP, multimedia engineering or file post-processing
• Creates final files and performs spot-check before handover
• Updates files after QA check
• Is responsible for the quality and on time of checked files
• Delivers files in time and in required quality to requester
• Performs self-check on own work accurately according to the project specifics
• Other duties as assigned include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparing files for translations
  • Quality Assurance
  • Tracking and file handling
  • Supporting Project Managers

Requirements:

• Knowledge of DTP tools - Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Articulate Storyline, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of Multimedia tools - Adobe Premiere, After Effects are desired
• 1 year of multimedia or DTP experience and/or experience in localization is an advantage
• Translation Management Systems (XTRF, Plunet, etc.) and CAT tools (MemoQ, Trados Studio) is a plus
• Multimedia or DTP specialization degree is an advantage
• Intermediate/Advanced English
• Flexibility and proactiveness
• Attention to detail and quality
• Team spirit
• Coachable
• Responsibility and ability to organize own work in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to increase your skills, learning new tools and processes

Additional information

• This is a remote, full-time position as part of our team. You may be located anywhere in the world for this position.
• You must be willing to work US hours - 8:30 to 5:00 CST.
